Absolutely loved the historic homeliness of The Raymond, rustic, casual, tranquil fountains and green garden setting. This contrasted with the somewhat disjointed service, our cocktail took ages to arrive, needed follow up but was delicious when it arrived. We'd asked for mayo but by the time it arrived the fries had gone cold. It would also have been great to see more vegetarian options.
We had a delightful time at The Raymond restaurant for a birthday dinner. The service to get to our table was a bit slow and the wait staff was not able to tell us what a few menu items were but the food and ambiance was great. The salad was refreshing but the vinaigrette could have a bit more tang to offset the fruit in the salad. The seabass and short rib were cooked to perfection and they even brought out two desserts for our birthday celebration.
Been coming to this place for close to 10 years now and never grow tired of it. Tje cocktails and food are great and the ambience inside this craftsman cottage always transports me to another era. Classic Pasadena! The Fermi Paradox cocktail is a 10 and the short rib tacos on the brunch menu are excellent. But my favorite is the cinnamon roll! Parking: I never have trouble finding parking on the street.
