Ambiance! You walk in and you have to give the interior decorator kudos, you almost feel a world away. The menu is simple, concentrating on food staples we know and a mix of food that is from across the pond. Concentrating heavily on the fried fish and chips. I actually came here on an off day Thursday and it turned out to be a nice experience. But I have to admit even if it was full I'd still enjoy it The food was good the beer is good The ambiance is good It was worth it.
Stopped in for lunch and a scotch egg to share. I had fish and chips with an old fashioned. My wife had a pimms cup and soup/salad. Fish and chips were by far the best part of the meal. Fresh hot and crunchy, loved it. The soup and salad was okay. The drinks were too sweet and syrupy something I should never have to say about and old fashioned. No complaints on the service. Over all not I can’t say I would recommend the Pub to a friend. Maybe I’ll try it again in a few months.
A backup plan to the packed Ford Garage (2 hour wait) we were able to get seated right away. Too bad the Union Jack wasn't lowered to acknowledge QE2 passing. The fish and chips were tasty. The only problem is the fare is a tad overpriced for what you get. Atmosphere is, as one would expect, "pubby" with a Happy Hour vibe. Oh, the other issue is parking at the establishment is limited. Worth a once in a harvest moon visit.
