The Original Italian Pie

Little hole in your wall pizza places, always tend to be some of the greatest pizza in the bigger cities. The Original Italian Pie did not disappoint. Quick and prompt service, food came out fast, and the woman behind the counter was incredibly polite, great customer service, and a welcoming environment. Small and compact, not a huge open space for eating but we didn't have trouble finding a seat and in this city, finding a seat can be tricky, but it is removed well enough from other things that even at the height of dinner time, it was comfortable and easy to get in. Customers were all friendly, had a full on conversation with two different groups we were sitting by for most of the time we were there. A very nice, relaxing, and chill environment removed from the craziness of the city. Very recommended and ended up being one of my favorite spots I've ate at in New Orleans, which says a lot for a city known for its food...

The staff was very friendly and prompt. The food was delicious. The prices may seem a little high for some of the menu items, but you'll understand when you see the portions. Each item can easily be shared between two adults. The calzone pictured is the children's portion. The adult size is about twice the size of this one. The lasagna pictured also cane with a large side salad. We would definitely visit here again if we are ever back in NOLA.

Arrived after midnight to my hotel and concierge gave me easy directions, right around the block. Got The Italian combo which is basically your standard Supreme. Snatched some pralines for dessert and a 2L. My hotel has a kitchen. This pie fed me for 3 days. Pleasant and fun atmosphere. Very friendly staff.
