I am ruined for all other gumbos. Seriously, this is not the spot I expected to get the best gumbo I’ve ever had, but it was absolutely fantastic. It’s full of chicken and boudin (GAME CHANGER!) and no rice which was a nice change. The spice level is great and I almost came here for a second time on the same trip just to get it again. Don’t sleep on the gumbo here, it’s worth it! We also had a great rest of our brunch: the crab Benny was delicious and had a soft and yummy biscuit under it. The chicken and waffles was also great; it comes with a gravy of sorts but they also brought syrup for the traditionalists. We are inside and loved it, but they have a lovely courtyard as well which would be nice when it’s not so hot. Side note: love the bathrooms here, the hallway leads to an open area with a couple sinks and then each individual bathroom is it’s own private room. Such a nice touch. I saw this chef on Beat Bobby Flay and I’m so glad I tried her restaurant— it’ll be a permanent sto
This was our favorite restaurant on this trip to New Orleans. The menu is imaginative and the food is absolutely delicious. The French toast was like a bread pudding. All the appetizers were great. The atmosphere is so gorgeous both upstairs coming downstairs, and outside. Our waiter was extremely helpful and attentive.
I loved all the greenery and artwork. It was a cool oasis on a hot day. I had my first Crawfish grilled cheese sandwich and it did not disappoint. Love the lunch option to pick 2 half orders. I will try the wines next visit, when I have more time to sip. Worth the trip for sure.
