The Orient Restaurant (Perry Hall)

This is my go-to restaurant for both sushi and Chinese food. The service is impeccable - always courteous, professional, and prompt. The sushi is always amazing quality and very fresh - and I used to roll sushi for a living myself so I am making that assessment from a different perspective than the average consumer. This is a wonderful restaurant for delivery and dine-in, too. Good atmosphere for a date night. Every time I go elsewhere for sushi, I am disappointed and I have never had that experience with The Orient.

This is the first time I would give this restaurant a two star. Just wanted people to be aware not to order the teriyaki chicken. The piece of chicken was obviously a frozen piece they said was grilled and watery sauce in a container. Definitely not worth the money!!! Called to discuss it with them and he was annoyed and said they’ve cooked it for 32 years. Doubt that because it wasn’t even a menu.

This was our first time in years eating here. The service was good and the food typical of most Chinese restaurants-sufficient quality and quantity. However, they do "ONE" thing different from all others. I love the dry noodles and duck sauce starter provided, similar to salsa and chips in Mexican restaurants, as you peruse the menu before ordering. Rather than the prepackaged Duck Sauce provided in most Chinese restaurants, The Orient provides a full squeeze bottle and their Duck Sauce is excellent. This is a unique appetizer approach that many other Chinese restaurants should emulate.
