We were too excited to find this place to be disappointed the way we were. I see why this place is called the Lost Cajun. I'm from New Orleans and this place is a disgraceful joke ???? I spent over $30 bucks for food I did not like. The beignets are not even authentic, like what the heck! The gumbo was tasteless, the fish was fried wayyy too hard and it just wasn't a good experience.
Can't beat it. As a southerner, I eat here every chance I can. Catfish is my favorite. My daughter always gets the jambalaya and me the lobster bisque. I have a hard time deciding between the bisque and seafood gumbo every time. Haven't gotten anything I don't like here.
We went there for dinner Friday night and really enjoyed the visit. First of all the wait staff were the nicest we'd encountered anywhere and took v we very good care of us (and everyone there it seemed). It was our first time so they brought us a sampler flight of all of the gumbo, which were all really good. The kids meals seemed a bit expensive at $6 each, but then the portion was enough to feed most adults so the leftovers were enough for their lunch the next day as well so it was good value. I got the chicken and sausage gumbo which I didn't think was spicy enough but with the red pepper and hot sauce they provided it was just right. My wife had the catfish and it was extremely fresh and very tasty, cooked perfectly. Everything seemed very fresh and overall it was a great experience. Not many places with food that good that we can take all the kids to and not break the bank. We will definitely go back soon.
