I like it here and want to like it more. The clam chowder was awesome. I had the classic eggs Benedict and it was very good, except the ham and muffin were over cooked and I needed to steak knife to cut through them. Overall it’s worth going, but I’m a little bias as they serve breakfast all day.
The Hen & The Hog has a down home country atmosphere and the staff are friendly and accommodating. We ordered the biscuits and gravy which came with 4 biscuits and were smothered in sausage gravy. The gravy was creamy and filling. We ordered a side of bacon to go with it and the bacon was perfectly crisp. We also ordered the California eggs Benedict which was topped with avocado, bacon and hollandaise sauce. I enjoyed the simplicity and flavor combination. It came with a side of grits which I sweetened with honey. These meals hit the spot and I would recommend Hen & Hog if you’re in the Pompano area.
Outstanding service from Ann on this wonderful way to start our day. Kids in town for the weekend and we had to show them the best bang for your buck breakfast around. Biscuits and gravy and chicken and waffles with the strawberry butter was outrageously good. Everything was great as always and we can’t wait for the new location to open by our work. Find your way to this place and enjoy the food and friendly service. Make sure to say hi to New Jersey transplant Ann and get her to say cheddar!
