It was my girlfriend's birthday and I wanted to take her to a fancy dinner. We were debating between The Butcher's Cut and Greystone Prime, which is right next to Butcher's Cut. My girlfriend decided on Butcher's Cut, because the girl at the front said they had calamari..... LIE #1 We also got there at happy hour, but happy hour was only at the bar.... LIE #2 The food was extremely overpriced. I got the sea bass, which was basically like a kids portion and the taste was bland. Pretty sad for $44. My girlfriend ordered the ribeye. That was pretty good, but she ordered it medium and it came out rare. The crab cake was pretty good, but my favorite was the brussel sprouts. My girlfriend wanted tiramisu for her bday dessert, but they were out. So she got the lemoncello cake, which she didn't really care for. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience. I recommend going to Greystone Prime instead. Just as overpriced, but at least you won't get lied to there just so they can get customers.
Upscale aged steakhouse in downtown San Diego. Would have been 4 stars but for the price i was expecting a lot more. The ambiance and decor was very enjoyable and eclectic. The music was loud enough that we were shouting to be heard in conversation and could hardly hear the hostess. Nice large bar with a decent selection as well as some house specialty cocktails. The presentation and plating was top notch and the food was quite attractive. There is a large dry aging case at the rear with many huge cuts on display. Our server was very nice. Overall the service (on a Saturday night at 8 pm) was lacking (though professional and pleasant when it happened). Water glasses were often empty and used plates accumulated until we stacked them ourselves. Our meals (party of 5) arrived with sides missing and some was cold. :( i sent back the brussle sprouts (nasty). The clam chowder, though very tasty, took me 10 minutes to pry the clams out of the shells so my wife could eat it. The truffle bu
Be prepared to spend a little extra to eat here. Thier presentation on thier dishes where really set right. I give this place 3 stars cause the waitress gave is the specials and but what was really selling us a 200$ plate for a tri rib eye, lamb chops and stuffed lobster ravioli. I wasn't an awe with our dishes but they were good. I've been to some nice steak houses this place is the prices I've ever been to. Even thier drinks where 25$ each for a small jack and coke. All in all this was a good pricey place just wasn't expecting to pay $650 for me and my wife.
