I ordered delivery, so I can't give atmosphere views or service quality, so those get the benefit of doubt. I ordered a large Bourbon chicken ($14), minus broccoli. A large Happy Family ($18), again minus broccoli. Plus a large Plain Lo Mein noodles ($10), with extra sauce. Lets start with the positives. They got the special requests done perfectly. The food also tasted wonderful with nice large portions. Now to the bad, and in my opinion very bad! The worse thing was the ratio of Meat to Veggies. For both meals it was about 30% meat to 70% veggies. Personally i think those need to be swapped if not greater. Absolute minimum to me would be 50/50. Chinese food is always pricey, but for those ratios it was too pricey! Also the sauce for the Happy family needs something more, spice maybe. The proteins in it were excellent though. Overall, mainly because of ratio, is a 3 star review. Would I return? Yes to see if ratio was better. If it is my rating will go up!
I was very disappointed with my take out order from the Tea Garden last night. The quality was poor and the portion size has been reduced. My Bang Bang beef was mostly onions! I also ordered Vietnamese egg rolls which were of poor quality as they contained gristly beef. The large size order comes in a plastic container that holds 24 oz...far less than- that the typical quart size (32 oz) of most other Chinese restaurants. Finally, they forgot my order of crab rangoons.
Haven't been by here since my job moved. Was not feeling Culver's drive thru and line out the door. So we tried tea garden again. Loved the dinner combos with fried rice. Recommended dishes Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon … More
