State Street Eating House + Cocktails

I have a mixed review of our experience here. We dined outside, and ordered cocktails, the charcuterie board and we split the pork ragu. The meat on the charcuterie was exceptional, the best we’ve had, and the the pork ragu was fabulous. Where our dining experience failed miserably was with the cocktails, and this is something the restaurant highlights and is the main reason we chose this restaurant. My husband ordered the yakisugi fashion ($20), which was to be smoked and was presented to the table unsmoked and had to be returned, when it was returned the smoke smelled charred and was extremely fleeting, if you blinked you missed it, overall the drink was mediocre. I had ordered the “fizzy ending” and it fizzed right onto the table (I was recording the fill and had to stop because of the mess it started to create, and in the same photo you can see that my husband’s drink is not smoking) and through the slats of the table, making it a sticky mess so beware of your shoes/clothing under

To the location, staff, cocktails, and food, my dining experience and party had a great time. Very clean, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. Everything was great, but the fried chicken is top tier. A must try. They also have a bar/lounge area right next door. Looking forward to checking it out on my next visit.

What a great experience! We were treated very well here by Jessica (she’s the best). The food was top notch, maybe one of the best places in Sarasota. Everything was great, but I have to say that mushroom toast was my favorite. My wife doesn’t even like mushrooms and she liked this toast. I think my wifes favorite was the ragu, which was spectacular. They gained some regular in us tonight, thanks for the great meal.
