Husband had sliders, he's not a picky eater, but the bread , very chewy and the meat had no flavor to it. I had 1/2 sandwich, which tasted good. Just very small. Service was okay. Seemed like our server had the most people in her area. Not sure if that was on purpose, but they kept seating people in her area. I get that it's diner food... but its just kinda okay
We visit McKinney yearly and visited Spoons on the recommendation of a friend who previously lived in the area. Upon our arrival, it was obvious there would be a wait to get a seat at the outdoor seating area. And there was a wait for a table inside as well; however, the hostess told us we could go around to the other side of the building to Spoons Garage and get seated immediately. My wife ordered the Not So Simple Breakfast, with cottage potatoes, tomatoes, wheat toast, bacon, and eggs. She also said the coffee was some of the best she's ever had, and she is a coffee connoisseur. Great place to grab lunch while shopping in downtown McKinney! We went during off hours (around 3:00) and sat at a cozy table by the front window. We liked that we were able to order smaller portions that still included a side. We ordered the club sandwich and the BLTA. Both were delicious! Our helpful waitress recommended the sides. The potato salad was creamy and top rate. I enjoyed the shoestring sweet potato fries dipped in ranch. The gourmet coffees were special treats, something that you could just stop in for by themselves. We will definitely be back to try out more of their menu!
