Son Ja's Soul Food Carryout

My family and I went on a Thursday the restaurant opened at 1pm. We arrived at 1:07pm and was told after wait for 5 mins to wait a few mins while the finish setting up; We ended up waiting until 1:54 along with 2 other families to be served. We ordered 4 chicken wing dinners according to there menu each dinner is $15.50 which would be $62.50 before tax, Our food totaled to $80.53 HOW?? The chicken was bland, the macaroni was like cheese soup, I was going to order the dressing but it had a pinky hue, the green bean were very greasy and had a strange after taste. The yams tasted unfinished it needed more flavor. Overall If you like your soul food made WITHOUT LOVE this is the restaurant for you.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. After 2 days I'm still pondering on if I will return or not. My experience is 50/50 so I think I MAY give a second chance to waver me either way. Anyway, the food was OK. I ordered the smothered fried chicken, mac and cheese, and dressing. I actually asked the woman to add green beans but she didn't. Which is half of the reason why I'm giving a so so review. The woman that was serving the food did not look happy at all to be there. She did not even attempt to try to fake a smile. I felt kind of rushed to order and then like I said she did not even put everything on the plate she asked me what I wanted but was moving ahead of me. Customer service is really big I will not go somewhere because of their customer service even if the food is good. The guy there working named Ryan was nice. He had his name on his shirt. The chicken was dark meat but it was kind of dry. The dressing did not have much flavor but it was edible. The mac and cheese

Typical you know what. Always want you to support. But never on time. Food was good but you literally have to choose from the 2 sides they have on the bar. Waited a hour just to get again the only thing on the buffet. If that's what you want to call it. Guess I'll be going back to Diners Delight.
