Smashburger

I use to really enjoy Smash Burger. The food was always tasty, good service, and clean atmosphere. My recent visit, ordering was difficult no fault to the cashier, she was new, but the manager, didn't seem helpful and was busy stacking cups while the girl strugged to understand what gluten free and dairy free was. The dining area was a bit messy and smelled like Denny's, that wet rag mildewy smell. The food came all at different times about 5 to 8 minutes apart, my food was sent back because it still had cheese on it. They forgot the fries. When they brought it back out there was so much oil in the fry container, the bottoms of the fries were soaked in oil. I was able to pour the oil out into a cup. Pretty disappointing visit. Hopefully it was just an off day. Kid-friendliness: Good portions for kids and good fluid friendly options.

Good food, not super fast burger service. Staff was friendly and helpful. Update: Very short staffed, still helpful and friendly staff but definitely overworked. IT systems are lackluster at best - see the blue screen of death Update 2: air conditioning was out of service, it gets hot here. Seems like this place is on its death spiral. Shame given how many places in sugarhouse have recently gone under. Turns out the parent company is owned by a Philippine conglomerate.
