Their pulled pork is amazing. Went in a Tuesday and got the taco Tuesday special. One burnt end, one pulled pork with potato casserole and Mac n cheese. Both sides were so delicious. I loved the little things such as the hand wet wipes, sauce whenever you want, and the togo containers readily available.
My KC BBQ Journey: I moved to Kansas City from Chicago a few months ago, and I decided to try a new bbq spot every week since I’ll be here for a year. I’ve had all the classic spots, so it was finally time to branch out to a place where “you have to know to know” I don’t mean to be dramatic, but this bbq may have changed my life. I got the half slab dinner with a side of bbq baked beans and the baked potato casserole. Delicious is an understatement. The ribs were beautiful to look at and even better to eat—moist, flavorful, and enhanced with the sauces. The sides we’re a perfect complement Fun atmosphere and friendly staff. I will most definitely be back. Slap’s is my 7th KC bbq spot, and I can confidently say that it’s Top 2 [for me personally] thus far.
Very tasty! Definitely better than the average BBQ joint but was expecting more with all the hype around this place. Ribs were super moist but needed more flavor, burnt ends were pretty good but not very moist. Potato Casserole was great but beans were too sugary. Overall, really good though.
