Simon Parrilla Bar and Grill Longwood

Came in for a family birthday dinner. As soon as you walk in you notice the colorful walls with popular Colombian sayings on them. The place looked super clean and felt family friendly right away (for an early Thursday evening). I was surprised they had Medalla beer and like any good Puerto Rican I had a few. We ordered a round of different natural juices, which took a little while to get, but they were made right there on the spot. We ordered some empanadas as an appetizer, then for our meal, picada for two, picaña, and just steak with rice and beans. The empanadas were fresh off the fryer and obviously cooked in clean oil. The picada was amazing. For dessert we got the trifecta; flan, Nutella tres leches, and cheesecake (from favorite to least favorite). The service was really good, especially considering that we were a party of about 15. As far as price per meal goes, I've definitely paid much more for less.

Pleasant decor for this Colombian themed establishment. We were greeted right away and presented our menus though it was nearly empty at 12:45pm on a Friday. Waitress brought me the weakest iced tea I’ve ever had, maybe it’s a Colombian thing. We both Ordered the steak tacos, Chicken or other proteins not available. The simple beef and onion combo on the tacos was fresh though there was almost no flavor. The salsa verde was a tad spicy but in the most delicious way possible. Excellent. Almost got the la plancha pechuga but we were on a lunch break. Service was inattentive at best and this photo of our empty table with my wife having to vacate left me alone waiting for the check in a nearly empty and quiet restaurant. The staff was pleasant, just pre-occupied I guess. May come back but unlikely.

Awesome, if you want great food, great service, and have some fun,this is the place to go. Jeffery the waiter and team was on point. Clean restaurant and clean restrooms. Great job
