Worst customer service, unauthentic and bad tasting food. Host treated us extremely disrespectfully from the moment we walked in. Then the food was just so bland and uninspired. This place calls itself a Sichuanese restaurant, but failed miserably at the signature spicy boiled fish. No Sichuanese peppercorns or peppers, and they used pepper flakes and celery instead? From someone of Chinese heritage, this place is NOT it.
Edit to review after I gave the place a second chance and ordered from the “authentic sichuan menu”: This place is a disgrace, even the “Chinese food” is horrible. See new photos below. My “chongqing popcorn chicken” was like Cheetos crossed with chicken nuggets. Nowhere near the real thing. Under no circumstances give this restaurant your business. It’s a shame there is no decent Chinese food on the north side of Indianapolis. Edit to my review 2 hours after eating it: I have never felt this disgusting after eating a meal in my life. I had to just lay on the couch and not move to make sure I didn’t throw up. I could practically feel the layer of oil sitting in my stomach. I will probably not return even to try the traditional menu at this point. Original review: This seems to be the only Chinese place in Carmel that is semi-legitimate. Have to drive all the way to the south side of Indy for the real experience, so I decided to save the time and try this place — ordered takeout. The fo
When people say don’t let the looks deceive you, this place it’s the definition of that. Went in today with high expectations based on many good reviews, but came out of the restaurant with high disappointment. First, the place doesn’t look clean at all whatsoever. Second, the waiter was super rude to us and didn’t have any good customer services. Third, the food we ordered looked super good but the food was flavorless and oily. If I had the option not give any stars, then I would. Overall, It was a disappointing experience and we won’t be going there again.
