I just had the best Thai food since Thailand; I'm so serious! I really loved the quality and quantity of the food; Siam Station Thai Street is a true hidden jewel in the OC. The size of the shrimp used in the "Spicy Basil Fried Rice" was medium to large size (and that's very rare to see). The food was reasonably priced (especially seeing that fuel prices and inflation are through the roof), which was an awesome value for the taste. Patronizing this place was an absolute delight!
The only Thai place I visit in Irvine whether ordering for home or going out for lunch during the work week. Recently on a work lunch trip, I had myself the garlic pepper with filet beef rice dish and the shrimp rolls. The garlic pepper rice dish I've had with beef or chicken many times before and it's always a winner for me. I like to cake my rice with hot sauce and go to town in the beef, mixing in the sauces. The shrimp rolls were a new spur of the moment thing and glad I tried them. A long piece of shrimp in a deep fried roll tasted great. Much more unique than the usual spring rolls or egg rolls, the shrimp filled roll was good! All the food was quite filling for 1 person, I felt like I was going to explode. Have tried the crab fries rice many times, it's the prime winner at this joint. Have repeated many times and will repeat again.
Mango sticky rice was the winner for me. Very sticky, mangowey, and sweet. Chicken satay was good average satay. Yellow chicken curry was very watery, not thick like I normally like it. Eggplant with basil (with tofu) was pretty good, but the eggplants could have been cooked a tad bit longer so that they would be softer. Nice and clean. Reasonable prices.
