Been going here for 20+ years. Always great and consistent. Recent trip not so much. They switched to deep fried from pan fried on their chicken fried chicken. Not sure why. Mashed potatoes are now chunky with skin on, previously fully whipped and creamy. Okra was old and chewy. Very disappointed.
Worst food me and my husband's had in our life. We are traveling constantly and have come across some pretty rough spots but at least one thing was edible at it. There is nothing edible at this place. Refer to photos..
Jose, the new owner, did an amazing job in the kitchen. John did a wonderful job trying to stay attentive and make sure the customer service was spectacular. Food was alright. Turkey dinners were very salty and the stuffing had a cake batter texture. The Salisbury steak was wonderful as well as the broccoli and macaroni and cheese. The cooked cabbage had a little bit of an oily/greasy taste not too fresh. The bacon wrapped steak with corn was very flavorful and would eat it again. Overall: they are trying to get the restaurant back up and running. The owner and floor manager did an excellent job keeping everything in line. When I go back I will try to get something on the lighter side as opposed to a gravy/meat option.
