Saltgrass Steak House

Had a wonderful meal here. Melanie was our server. She was fantastic. Melanie was thoughtful and went over and above on several occasions. Genuine smile and knowledgeable with the menu and drinks. She recommnded and offered a small tasting of a local bourbon (Balcones), which cemented my drink for the evening. I am gluten free and saltgrass has a GF menu. She brought me a nicely toasted gluten free bun. I did not even know this was an option so it was a rare and welcome GF surprise, one I haven't had in years. I ordered the bone in pork chops and they came out juicy, cooked and seasoned perfectly. My salad was fresh. I felt the price was very reasonable for my delicious, fresh, gluten free meal and wonderful service.

I haven't been to a location in about 10 years. This was the 1st time that I tried the pork chop. It was really good. This was the first time anybody ever asked me about the doneness for a pork chop. I got it medium well. The doneness is always 165 for pork. Anyways, it was a good experience.

The service here was really slow. I don't know if it was the after church crowd or the normal Sunday crowd, but it did take a long time for our food to come out. I do have to say it was worth waiting for, but the next time I visit, I'll definitely have to consider the day and time. The Pickles & Peppers were my appetizer, which were pretty good. For my entre, I ordered the Atlantic Salmon, mashed potatoes, and flash-fried green beans, which were excellent. I'll probably be back on a different day of the week to see if the service improves.
