Sal's Italian Ristorante

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years. Always had a great experience with service, food and drinks. My favorite dish is the meat lasagna, and I sometimes order their pizza. The owners are the sweetest people and they will have their meal next to you.

The place looks “stereotypical” for italian restaurants, and not in a good way. Tried to order a Stromboli with very specific toppings, but didn’t because the chef refused to make any alterations to the receipe (which tells me it may not be cooked to order, definitely a red flag). Most positive thing I can say is that I ordered a Calzone and what I received was the right shape, but it was as bland as the decor. Also ordered a takeaway pizza, and it had some creativity put into it; somehow came out burnt in the bottom and not very hot on top. The pizza was still decent, but not quite what I prefer.

Great lunch spot. The servers are long-time employees so it makes the experience consistent, with attentive and friendly service. The pizza is classic New York style. We fold it and enjoy every bite. They have a nice lunch special, and a good assortment of salads and pasta.
