Salinas Restaurant

We walked up to some unsuspecting store front but after being walked down a long hallway We got sat outside in a beautiful open roof room. Got the brave potatoes with lumpfish caviar. Was outstanding. Got the octopus, was amazing as well. The Iberian ham was eh kind of tasteless but the quality was up there I think I might just not care for Iberian ham. The cocktails were excellent. Got the seafood rice which was on point. The service was very good as well the back waiter was on the ball and my captain was very knowledgeable about the drinks and menu items. The cheese cake was delicious and warm. The only negative things I could mention was some of the plating was a little lazy, sauce on the rims water spots on the plates that type of thing hardly worth mentioning. But my table was wobbly which was really annoying. However, I definitely recommend visiting this restaurant!

I always come to Salinas for the best octopus in the city. Besides the great ambience, amazing food they also have an outstanding customer service. Olger is a sweetheart and always makes my experience better!!! If you want to listen to good music while enjoying some good food this is definitely your spot. Vegetarian options: The cauliflower, mushrooms and pan tumaca were my favorite vegetarian dishes served. Kid-friendliness: Olger was super nice recommending the best vegetarian/pescatarian option when I mentioned I did not eat meat. This place got the best octopus in NYC!!!! And of course Jhon made me the best Comandante eveeeeer. They were both really sweet and kind. I will definitely be back.

Everything about this experience was amazing. From the decor to the natural light in the dining room to the food, all of my senses are treated to classy-yet-casual dining evening. Among the introductory dishes which were all very tasty, I was drawn to the coliflor al yogurt. This yogurt was a highlighted accoutrement that I didn't know roasted cauliflower needed. It was a refreshingly unexpected surprise. The paella was what you wanted it to be. The rice alone captured all the flavors which almost made the clams, shrimp, and chicken seem extra...almost. Add the entraña to the other proteins to grant the evening a decisive victory. And just when you think it couldn't get any better, the desserts where outstanding! The torrija was anything but what I imagined bread pudding to be. The passion fruit carried me to the end with the marmalade (and a slight hint of mint) to stick the landing.
