Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q

We received a 2 for 1 sandwich coupon in the mail and we took advantage of the offer. We both had the brisket sandwich with sides of corn on the cob and green chili stew. Everything was delicious.

Update: this location has moved and is under new management!! Major improvements. The food was hot. And the dining room very clean. I have frequented Rudy's my whole life. I recently moved to Austin and discovered that none of the Austin Area Rudy's serve their smoked potatoes. I made the hour-long drive to visit the location in New Braunfels for their Smoked potatoes and was disappointed. They had an over done, burnt rate to them and the portion (both the size of the potatoes as well as the portion of meat it's served with) didn't quite match other Rudy's locations that I have visited in other parts of Texas.

It's a pretty busy place not for those that may have anxiety (like me) I tried a loaded baked potato with pulled beef and pork it was good on a very big baked potato it's good but it's something I wasn't dying for. I tried some samples and thought the brisket was kind of dry for my liking, I think I also tried another piece of something I forgot what, it's just not what I look for. I'm picky and I'm on a journey in finding the best, though other people seem to really like this place and I hope it continues to thrive, but I'll look elsewhere for now sorry. It's worth a try and I do love the sauces they offer.
