I ate dinner here with some colleagues, and while the atmosphere is awesome, the food left a lot to be desired. Much of it was under seasoned (salted), and the entrees lack a lot of flavor, even with the lemon and lime citrus they came with. I did enjoy the appetizers, though. We had grilled octopus, carpaccio, and these really tasty scallops. Personally, I think you’ll get a better plate of food for your money in the west loop, but RPM is a fine option if you’re looking for something simple (if expensive) in river north.
We came here to celebrate our son’s 14th birthday and we even mentioned it when we reserve our table. Nothing was even mentioned. No complimentary birthday decorations or desert!? Atmosphere and ambiance was excellent. Very chic with upbeat vibe, the river view was amazing. Spanish octopus was terrible, all charred with no taste. Service was attentive but nothing outstanding. Seafood tower was excellent. Not sure we’ll be back next time in Chicago.
The ambiance is outstanding. A beautiful view of the Chicago River and the architecture along. Great attention to detail and outstanding cuisine. It's definitely a special experience.
