Royce

As downtown residents, we were excited for Royce. The space is inviting with its large windows overlooking the corner of 5th and Vine. However, once seated, we were (with a reservation) seated near the server station, and my chair was consistently being knocked around, with no way for me to scoot it in (because of the round table leg in the middle). Our cocktails arrived 20 minutes after our order, and the wine list, though impressive, left few options for a lesser expensive bottle of wine. Which we would not have minded if the rest of the meal hadn't been underwhelming. While it was BLINK weekend, we had been seated before most of the crowds arrived, yet our food was slow to be served. My husband's heirloom tomato salad with quark was overly tart, and contained wayyy too much cheese for the dish. Our trout dishes arrived only warm (we ordered one burger and three trout dishes). The best side was the squash, and when we asked for bread to soak up the sauce, it took another ten minutes

Absolutely fantastic. Knowledge of the staff is unmatched, the pairings and drinks were great. we came for our anniversary and I can't recommend it enough. Food was delicious and unique with each course having a different profile. Each item alone was great but even better together.

Service was incredibly slow and the server was not attentive at all. It took almost 2 hours to get our main course after we sat down and it was lukewarm(we had lost our appetite by then anyway). Drinks were delicious but food was just ok - nothing spectacular.
