Rocco's Italian Grille & Bar

I came the other day for a date with my boyfriend and I felt the server was being rude because I didn’t know the menu, I wanted to leave as it’s incredible disrespectful the way she was speaking to me. I had questions since I never been to an Italian restaurant and she belittled me. So I won’t be coming back.

My niece and I were looking forward to our date night to celebrate our birthdays. We chose Rocco’s. The calamari and wine were great.. Up the that point, we thought we had made the right choice. I ordered risotto and my niece ordered raviolis from the “special” of the day. Such a disappointment. My risotto was uncooked.. it was by far the worst risotto I have ever had.. I told the waitress I couldn’t eat it because it was uncooked (see the pic) She said she should have told me their risotto was al dente. I never heard of that. I am not one to make anyone feel bad therefore I told her it was fine… to pack it and I would cook it for my husband.. she said she was going to to try and do something for me.. I told her that’s not what it was about, I didn’t want anything. The risotto was $38 and the 4 raviolis were $44.. The raviolis were good not but worth the money. This restaurant is very close to my home and I decided to try it out for the first time during magical dining. As a hospitality professional and restaurant manager, maybe I am being too picky...but here is how I experienced this restaurant. First, the Host Matre D was very friendly and warm as he greeted us. He got us seated rather quickly and the live music was a lovely added touch. I was really excited at the get go. The food, while it was super delicious, was so tiny. I suspect they cut the portions in half for the magical dining experience. To be honest, we left the restaurant after having a "3 course meal" a bit hungry. I firmly believe if I ordered the same items, but a la carte, that they would have been larger in portion. While the restaurant I manage does not participate in magical dining, I don't believe the purpose is to cut the portions in half to save on cost. It's supposed to be a charitable event that brings new guests in to experience you and for the restaurant to earn
