Riverview Restaurant & Tavern

Makes the best chicken. Riverview has always been my go-to for chicken wings, and their pizza is good too. I gave it four stars because the pick-up area could use a little clean-up and organization.

While visiting family in the area we decided to have dinner at the Riverview Restaurant & Tavern in Algonquin. We're glad we did! Carol, our server, was very attentive and made sure we had a good time. We ordered soup, salad, pizza and dessert. The soup was Cream of Chicken and Rice soup. The soup was so delicious! The soup was very creamy and had good portion of chicken in it. It's been such a long time since we've had this type of soup. Brought back memories to when we were kids. The salad was freshly made and was ordered with homemade garlic dressing. Yum! Yum! We ordered the Barbecue Pizza and a thin crust with sausage, green olives and hot giardiniera. Both pizzas were very tasty and served piping hot right out of the oven. We decided not to overdo dinner because we wanted dessert. Boy...Oh boy! We chose the carrot cake, which was outstanding! The carrot cake had such a fresh taste to it. The cream cheese frosting was not overly sweet and complimented the carrot cake very well. We
