River House Restaurant and Raw Bar

The menu was high in our opinion and there are TONS of options. The appetizer list was lacking however. My husband doesn’t like to adventure and try new things and while I considered their menu items standard for a sea food place… he did not. In his words, “something sounds gross in everything.” Just a warning for other picky eaters! The view was great and the inside was beautiful too.

Nice place on the water. Service was friendly but lacked refinement. Seafood tower came without a bowl for shells. We had to ask for a bowl, napkins and silverware. We also still had our menus when they brought the tower. Food was solid. I had the surf and turf pasta - the beef, shrimp and pasta were excellent, but the sauce was a bit too cheesy and overwhelmed the other parts. Heirloom tomatoes in the tomato and mozzarella salad were really excellent - maybe the best I've had. They said they grow their own. Mussels were very uninteresting and I would take a hard pass on those next time. Nice river view, and there was live music playing next door. Great date spot. A beer and my entree were $45 without tip and the tower, so it was not inexpensive but also not high for the quality.
