Real Texas Cafe

The sign on the building says "Home Cooking", and that is exactly what I got! I ordered the daily special of Chicken and Dressing. I chose green beans and real mashed potatoes for my 2 sides. My green beans were just like my Granny used to make, and the mashed potatoes were definitely "real". Restaurant dressing always seems the same no matter where you get it from. This dressing was nothing like "restaurant" dressing, it was very unique and definitely fell in to the "home cooking" description. I liked the seasoning on the chicken, and the gravy looked and tasted like it was made from pan drippings, not from a package. If it was from a package, you'd never know it. The croutons on the salad were homemade too. The only thing that could have made this meal a little better would have been a little bit of cranberry sauce. I love this Family Owned Restaurant The owners are so Nice Staff is very professional Never have to wait for food or drinks. Very healthy portions. Decent prices. Service Excellent Waitress are always smiling and kind of pretty too. I eat here every Sunday for breakfast If you haven’t eaten here before MUST TRY……

Amazing service! The food was great. I highly suggest ordering rolls! They’re sweet, fluffy and warm. The cornbread was also good, I enjoyed the hint of sweetness it had. I ordered the club sandwich and it was way more than I expected! I couldn’t even finish it. The fries were fresh and tasty. My sandwich was really good and filling. The only “complaint” is about the restroom. I give that a 2/5. It could use some deep cleaning and fixing up. Overall, great food and great service!
