I have been to Prairie House multiple times over the years and each has been a great experience. The food here is down home cooking, I've never had an order and not loved what I've gotten. It is located in the crossroads intersection, diagonal from Walmart off of 380. I stopped in for lunch today, I'm meeting I was headed to was canceled so I stopped for an early lunch. I got there around 11:00, so I was one of the first people to be seated. I ordered tea and the Tuesday special which was a barbecue plate served with brisket, chicken breast and your choice of sides. I went with the beans, potato salad. They also brought out a cornbread roll. I wasn't wild about that, it was kind of dry. The meat was tender and had a great smoky flavor, was served with a nice barbecue sauce. The beans had a fabulous kick, potato salad had a creamy mustard base, potatoes were the right consistency of tenderness, nice flavor. They decor here is definitely rustic. Even though my daughter loves the food her

The first time I went it was great! I got a steak and asked for extra seasoning on the side and had no problem. I went tonight with my friend and after I asked for extra steak seasoning I was told they only use salt and pepper, I just said okay and ordered my steak medium rare and my friend ordered his medium rare as well. After receiving our steaks our waiter set them down and asked if we needed sauces and did not make sure the steaks were cooked correctly. My steak was so dry the meat looked white after cutting into it. My friends steak was cooked well done. After he sent his steak back he got a new one and it was rare almost blue rare, and after the manager brought it out he did not ask if this steak was better either he set it down said sorry and walked off. I hope my dogs enjoy my dry steak more than I did.

The Three Step combination was just the trick. We had the brisket burnt ends, chicken, and turkey with a baked potato and cowboy beans. The meats were generously portioned, and they were super tasty. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy, and it paired well with the meats. Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: No Takeout: Yes … More
