First of all, the food is amazing. The Italian beef with hot peppers never disappoints. Second is the service. This place gets so busy during the lunch rush yet they staff to handle it and seem to have the process so fine tuned that the wait is minimal. If dining inside, the place is kept clean and has lots of seats for all. Portillos is truly a Chicago area gem.
Can't go wrong coming here, there is something for everyone! Amazing 50s atmosphere making you feel welcomed. Friendly staff and a nice size menu. Definitely my favorite spot to stop at when passing through. Must try the combo sanwich and spicy chicken sanwich. Onion rings are great and of course the Chicago dog! They sell the beef by the pound and the jar of peppers. Everyone will be full and happy after a visit here!
