Portillo's Hot Dogs

The food was good and filling. I ordered two hot beef sandwiches with sweet peppers, small fried and drinks. The price on the board show just over $13. The cashier was up selling but didn't tell me that. It was our first time and he made it sound like it was options in the sandwiches. My mom ate half of her sandwich and took the rest home. There was jazz music playing which was a nice change from other places. It was loud so it made it hard to hear the numbers called for our order.

This was the 1st time for my family to visit. I give it 2 stars for the young lady at the register helped us understand the menu and how to order our meals. Along, with the young man that was cleaning the outside eatting area that interacted with my special needs child. She was tickled pink when she told him thank you for everything you do. He smiled and told her, you're welcome. No one else would even acknowledge her when she talked or asked questions, beside the 2 I spoke of earlier. When we got to the other side where we pick up the orders, I understood that order numbers do not get called in order. But, we stood there 30 plus minutes waiting for our meals. Everyone, including employees were getting their orders before us. All we ordered was 3 small drinks, 2 bacon cheeseburgers, 1 cheeseburger, 3 small fries, and 1 small onion ring. When our number was finally called, I asked the young lady that was calling numbers if this was normal to wait over 30 minutes for an order. She said

Went to the westside store Portillo's for the first time. Food was great and the staff friendly. The decor is different and felt more authentic than the Eastside one. Time from ordering to receiving the food might be slow for most people but we don't mind. It gives you some time to talk and take a break.
