3.5 rounded up. Cool vibe. Very urban spot. Kinda loud for me but I can see young people loving it. No parking but it’s downtown flower market so that’s a given. People r cool and work hard. Variety and menu is great. For me, it’s just too much work to get to this spot so it won’t be a regular thing for me but def fun to try out. Thx poppy and rose.
The place is a hidden gem in the middle of the Flower Market. The place is very wide and has a wonderful vibe to it. In terms of parking, they have validated parking on the street behind it but it’s quite a walk. Now the food, I had the Waffle Chicken Sandwich and just talking about it makes my mouth drool. The chicken is lathered with sweet chili (that tastes like buffalo sauce) and it blends very well with the honey they provide. Their menu is very appealing and is a website which can be accessed using the QR code. Staff was attentive and were very friendly to inquire about with their food. The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because of the restroom. I’m sure if they own the whole establishment, they would ensure the bathroom is squeaky clean. However, since it seemed to share it with the rest of the building, it’s not appealing and should be avoided for use.
Poppy & Rose offers classic comfort food with a unique twist. They had several variations on chicken & waffles. I will almost always order eggs Benedict if it’s on the menu. Poppy & Rose serves several different types of Benedicts. We ordered the Fried Chicken Benedict, the Two Egg Breakfast Plate and a side order of one biscuit with sausage gravy. Their portions are big and their fried chicken was on point. I couldn’t eat all of the biscuits because the fried chicken pieces were so big. The chicken was tender and juicy on the inside and had a nice crunch on the outside. The Benedict included a side salad which was lightly drizzled in dressing. I would definitely order this Benedict again. The Two Egg Breakfast Plate was simple and delicious. They have several lemonade choices. I ordered the refreshing blackberry lemonade. It wasn’t too sweet and I liked that it was muddled with real blackberries. Our waitress, Michelle, was excellent. She was friendly and pleasant & I appreciated her
