Pizzeria Della Nonna

ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Lousy service & pizza. I was STARVING (since I had nothing to eat all day) & wanted to enjoy a pizza I haven't had in a while. I finished with my doctor appointment (in the same plaza) & had at least an hour to wait for my ride. I couldn't just stand outside in the suffocating heat with my asthma! When I entered the place, it was empty, with a sign stating: "No dine-in." An old guy wandered to the front counter, completely inattentive. He treated me like I was wasting his time even though I ordered an expensive Veggie pizza (my gut told me I was wasting my money, but it also told me how hungry I was!). After paying, I explained I was waiting for my ride & asked if I could eat my pizza on the bench in the waiting area. He mumbled, "No!" So, while waiting for my pizza, enjoying the cool A/C, I NOTICED A WORM in the DIRTY waiting area! That was another red flag my gut noticed! When I received my pizza, it was TOO HOT TO TOUCH FOR AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR dur

This pizza was unexpected in a GOOD way. It had a "homemade...made from scratch" overall flavor. It was NOT loaded up with salt, which allowed to actually taste the fresh ingredients. It was NOT greasy, which is what surprised me as well. It was LOADED with toppings - they didn't hold back. I would totally go back for another pizza. I got their "super supreme" this time. I highly recommend them. For me, the only adjustment would be to ask for more sauce because I'm a saucy person.

Pizza Della Nonna is the best pizza in Sarasota. You won’t find anyone more dedicated to making great food. The place is adorable and clean; the staff is small and friendly and Peter is an amazing chef and man. P.s. Amazing vegan and gluten free options!!!
