Pioneer Chicken

One of my favorite fried chicken restaurants when I was growing up. So sad to see there are only 2 remaining. The one I visited is the Bell Garden location at the corner of Florence & Garfield. Sometimes it gets pretty packed here. Ive been here when the drive thru itself is a 20 minute wait! Restaurant shows it's age but is kept up well. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. And the chicken is simply BOMB! Crunchy, Crunchy Outside and Flavor dropping from the inside. Add a Orange Whip to your meal. One thing that cracked me up is when I order the 12 piece bucket....it actually comes in a rectangular box! All in all I recommend this place for both the awesome fried chicken and the nostalgia this place holds! Kid-friendliness: Offers kids meals. Parking: Property has its own parking lot.

Love it. One of the last few out there. Taste is exactly how I remember it as a teenager. This place still looks original inside, with little changes to their decor. A drive through is available at this location. An updated soda fountain, would be a refreshing change. All that was missing was their little strawberry shortcake dessert cups! Restrooms are still outside. Heavy traffic on Saturdays from Lunch time to Dinner time. Great customer service. I had the 3 piece meal with two sides and an orange bang. The leg and wing were perfect. The breast was lacking. The mashed potatoes and gravy were perfect. The coleslaw was ok. The lady at the counter was rude. Maybe she was having a bad not sure Overall the experience was just as I remember from a kid. I recommend
