Been visiting this restaurant for years and I have NEVER had a bad experience. One of my favorite places to eat!
I had Pio Pio saved on my Maps on my Want to Go list and I have no idea why. But the other day we were out in Orlando looking for Mediterranean food. It didn't work out so I checked my map and saw that I Pio Pio was saved. This is important because this meant that I had already done the vetting. So without any doubt, we headed over there. They did not disappoint. For how busy it was, we got seated really quickly. The hostess was kind and the server was very friendly and spoke loud and clear despite the volume and wearing a mask. For dinner, I ordered a dish that I've had before elsewhere. It's called the bandeja paisa , basically a giant dish with a pleasing variety of foods and heavy on the protein. It was so good a felt alive. The food was served faster than I expected as well. This place is worth a return visit.
Table for 5. We ordered calamari, chaufa, bandeja paisa, appetizer of mixed meat with tostones, piña colada, sangria. All the food was very good and they serve a good amount to even have left overs. Only thing i found the chicharron was over fried where the meat was too dry.
