This place was amazing. Sure, it takes the idea of a Cuban mom 'n' pop and turns it into a chain with a fancy website, but it sure had a mom 'n' pop feel inside. I had a nice Hispanic woman call me papa, felt like home. This particular shop is open 24/7, so it's place of refuge for night nurses and CNA's, I'm sure. They are lucky. I ordered a good sampling of their menu. I got a few pastelitos, I can't remember exactly what, but I think the guava cheese, the coconut, and the chorizo. Crispy, delicious, full of filling and flavor. I had a fried ham cheese Empanada. Also crispy and delicious. A real winner. And then I took it up a notch and got the Camagueyana, which is an empanada with a huge elephant ear baked into it. Very fun! Not too oily, a solid little thing. I also got a Croqueta of sort sort and of course a Papa Rellena. Everything I got turned to gold in my mouth. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in or passing through Homestead. Come!

After some bad experience at this location, i decided to give it another try. A lady moping at the moment grabbed my pan con bistec with the same glove she was moping seconds ago, i told her about that, and she was like oops i know, I'm sorry" I said I'm sorry too, and i left. I didn't have time for another pan con bistec, and im done with this place. After seeing their employees touching cash and food at the same time and now this.

This was my wife & I’s first time going to this place. I picked a number & waited for it to be called. My number was skipped. When i notified the cashier she attended me. I’ve had to ask several times to repeat herself. When i did she would look away at another cashier & would sigh then draw her attention back to me with an attitude. She was disgustingly rude & wife was observing EVERYTHING from the chair. When i check my receipt, the names of the things i bought were a different name & $3-$4 more than what the menu says. I brought it up to the cashier that attended me & again, with an attitude says “that’s the name in the system & the prices have changed.” That’s false advertisement. The food quality was super poor. My wife was very displeased. My food came out before my cafe con leche (waited 10minutes for ONE hot drink.) the only good thing was the wait for the food. It wasn’t too long (they were busy). My wife & I will not be going back to this facility.
