Update: 10/2021 ordered a large peperoni and all I can say is very bland. Not a fan of the dough. Service was excellent and all I had was a takeout order of slices. Pizza was good but nothing I would say that was spectacular. Sausage topping was good. I will be back.
I've heard good things about Papa Joe's until I actually had to experience it. I ordered a small pizza, Caesar salad and a shrimp and Fry basket. I placed my order at 6:31pm by 7:00pm, I still did not have my order. Two families of 4 walked in and were seated and eating their food before my order was even addressed. I finally went up to the counter and asked how much longer on my order. No one could tell me anything. Finally, they found the discrepancy. My order was never printed on a ticket. How convenient. I'm not one to pull the race card but I was the only African-American in the establishment. Would I say the employees were being racist, no, but I did feel completely excluded from the rest of the customers. I had a long day and the last thing I want to do is wait an hour for food. I am extremely disappointed in the wait time, the less than expedient response from the employees and the exclusive treatment I received. We got the garlic knots, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and the papa Joe's pizza which is like a supreme. The food was good. We did have a issue with hearing severe profanity from the kitchen. I had to pull our waiter aside to let him know, and it did get taken care of right away! Our waiter Dawson was very good and caring.
