Panchos Mexican Grill

My fiancee and I ordered some takeout for dinner this evening. We both decided on one of our favorite Mexican dishes... Molcajete. This is a $20 dish per person. The best of this dish should include shrimp, steak, chicken, chorizo sausage, shredded pork, cotija cheese, cactus shutes, and a whole large green onion. What came in this dish was pitiful. It included very little pork, very little chicken, and a ton of cheap queso cheese. The sauce was alright and I detected a small amount of yellow onion minced into it. For what this meal costs and reflecting on what it's missing I will never go here again for an authentic dish. It was like comparing Tombstone pizza to Marcos. Not worth it.

Pancho’s is by far and away the best Mexican restaurant my wife and I have been to. We’ve tried many other, similar restaurants around the country and nothing compares to Pancho’s. We first went to Pancho’s 10+ years ago while we were attending university, and they haven’t changed one bit. Everything on their menu is fantastic. I’ve never been disappointed. Their cheese dip is perfect. Their chips and salsa are perfect (and bottomless ????). We are big fans of the baked quesadillas and the chocolate chimichanga. Great value for money; sizable portions. Every time we know we are even going to be remotely close to the greater Knoxville area, we try and make it a point to visit Pancho’s. To management: never change! ❤️
