Paladar 511

Paladar 511 is an Italian restaurant in a modern setting sitting at the corner of Marigny and Decatur. We went there on a late Sunday and the place was packed. The menu has some unique options favoring all types of palates. We started off with the pork terrine, a French meatloaf served with apple butter sauce and toast. For the entree we went with the Lamb Merguez Sausage pizza and the Braised Rabbit plate. We finished with a warm graham cake. The food was spot on with taste and flavor. We also ordered a few cocktails that were very tasty. The ambience was great, maybe a little loud for a romantic setting. Also if you are there for a special occasion do let the hostess know. We filled it in during the online reservation but I guess they didn't get the info. I would highly recommend getting a reservation just like every other restaurant in the French quarter. We will be back to try some of the other items in the menu.

Absolutely delicious meal. Warm environment, wonderful service. We sat countertop and watched the chefs work. Beef carpaccio with cornmeal fried oysters were delicious. Fab and fresh local green salad with beets. Braised rabbit and sweet potato gnocchi was a hit! Would recommend and will be back

I wish I could choose 4.5, because this place was somewhere I’d generally recommend. But I did feel like the food came out in a rush which is my new pet peeve. We had about 6 courses ($14-24 each) and they just came out of the kitchen all at once. I swear we ate in 30 minutes and didn’t even get a chance to order a second drink. For the price tag, please let us have a second between full table platings!
