New to Reno, I've been on a quest to find the city's best All You Can Eat Sushi. This is the 6th place I've tried. Note although I only ate sushi I could see everything coming out of the kitchen and it all looked phenomenal. The challenge with this review is do you review in the context of being a Resort Casino restaurant (which are typically higher priced than non resort restaurants) or do you compare it apples to apples with say a strip mall joint straight across based on price, quality, atmposphere and service? I sort of decided to try to go in the middle of those two perspectives. For a casino resort restaurant, I would give it 5 stars. For a local restaurant regardless of location, I'd give it a 4 at most, so I decided on an average 4.25 lol. What's good? The fish quality here was noticeably a little better than all the other places I tried (Hinoki is next on my list and will be my seventh place). The atmosphere here is a matter of personal opinion but I'd say it's the best co
Went here to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary and truly wish we would have listened to my last minute thought of going somewhere else! Service was atrocious and the food was bland and simply terrible. To have to walk through the casino to get to it in the back, we should have turned around midway because we couldn't deal with the cigarette smoke, but from the front desk/receptionist area and then with the two different server changes on us before we could even figure out appetizers, everyone's attitude was displeasing and almost like we were a bother! Having to ask if we can get a drink menu, then having to ask for refills because our drink is dry was crazy! It took way too long to receive any attention to begin with, just to later be told by that server that we're gonna get another one anyways because of her shift change, and neither one of our servers were hospitable nor welcoming. They averted eye contact and kept looking around the restaurant while we were trying to order.
Nice atmosphere but that’s the best it gets here. I’ll say, the food is not worth the price. When walking in, it smelled like fish that has been sitting out for a while. That should have been the first sign to leave. The sushi was not fresh, and the rice would break apart once I picked up a piece. No one finished their food here, and we did not take it to go after. The egg in the ramen was way too salted and the kimchi was sour. Lastly, our server was not friendly nor welcoming. We enjoyed the other restaurants in the casino, so we had an expectation for this to meet the standard. Go to cafe Milano or Romanza for similar priced food that tastes great. Loved our service at those other places so would recommend those.
