Nuovo Chicago

I forgot to post this then, so I’ll do it now… My wife and I went to Nuovo in Chicago, a while back, and omg was it delicious! First of all, really nice place, great ambiance, perfect for a date night. They have indoor and outdoor seating, though the inside is beautiful, so I recommend it. My wife got the tuna tartare as an appetizer, which I kept picking at, since it was the best tuna tartare I’ve had. I generally like tuna tartare, but don’t love it, though I absolutely loved theirs (great chips too)! She also got the gnocchi, which was similarly delicious. It had heirloom cherry tomatoes and basil, was in a red pomodoro sauce, which had such a good flavor, and had cubes of mozzarella (which looked nice, and tasted good, though neither of us thought it really added much to the overall taste of the dish). So glad we gave this place a try! It's in walking distance from our house. Who would think a kosher Italian place would be such a find?! Cute space. The food was great! We began with their tuna Tartar. The only thing it was missing was a kick. Needed a heat/spice component. Otherwise, it was lovely. The beet salad was perfect in taste and presentation...fresh with beautifully balanced ingredients. The truffle oil mushroom pizza was to die for. $23 for a beautiful thin thin crust delight. More than enough for one person. I took some home. They have a pizza oven, though it may be electric vs wood burning. The homemade pasta was great! My guy had the mushroom tagliatelle pasta. He enjoyed it. They also comp-ed us a delightful Mac n cheese type app to try. So so good. Will definitely go back! This place was absolute heaven. They didn't bat an eye when we showed up straight from the airport with our luggage. They made fantastic suggestions. Beautiful restaurant, unbelievable food.
