Neptune Oyster

Amazing in its consistency and always worth the wait. What you see is what you get. Fresh ingredients treated with respect and a packed restaurant full of energy. Seared octopus, freshly shucked oysters and lobsters rolls are all highlights. It isn’t the best seafood on the planet, but it will also never disappoint. Earns every star the hard way.

We got the 3 things I think were absolutely essential to try here: oysters, lobster roll, and johnnycakes. The oysters were amazing. I liked the ones with medium salt and a clear finish. We ordered one of the funkier ones and I didn’t like it quite as much. The lobster roll was 10 dollars more than Pauli’s next door but I’d say it was worth it. Slightly fresher lobster meat and the bread was highly elevated. The fries were a good addition too. The Johnny cakes though… wow. Extreme flavor bomb from the first bite. To be honest I’ve never heard of one before but the caviar, pate, and the syrup just made for such a wonderful flavor. I highly highly recommend ordering that. The best thing I had in Boston during my time here absolutely. Regarding getting into this restaurant, lining up at 10:30 is the move. I don’t think waiting here for 1.5 hours is worth it.

It is a decent restaurant but I think it was a bit overhyped because the food was not amazing as I thought it will be, me and my friend wait for about 35 to 45 minutes which is fast compared to what I heard from my friend in Boston that usually people wait around 1 hour and half to get into the restaurant. The oyster was good, the lobster spaghetti was good too but the sauce was a bit to watery to me, the octopus tail was decent wish it was more chewy. The fish and chip was bit of a disappointment as the fish was over fried and the chip was under fried.
