M&K Island Hut

My friend and I arrived at 12 which is when they opened. A woman came out and told us that she was running behind and asked if we could give her about 15 minutes. We explored the neighborhood a bit and then decided to just sit outside. We could smell the food outside which was a good sign. I ordered a small curry chicken meal and my friend ordered a small stewed beef meal. We also purchased drinks. When you choose your order/meat you also choose 2 sides. This was a bit different for me compared to other restaurants. I got rice and peas and plantains. The food was really good. Fresh and delicious. My only criticisms are that the prices on the board do not match what I paid. For example, I paid $13 for a small stewed beef but the sign inside says $10 however the website lists it as $13. The drinks on the sign say $2.50 however I was charged $2.95. I would just suggest having the prices match on all platforms. Otherwise, I would recommend. I would like to go back on a Friday so I can try

So delicious and filling portions. Plantains, oxtail, jerk wings, rice and peas, stewed chicken, salmon, mac n cheese -- it's all flavor rich and delicious. Something for everyone in our home from the carnivores to vegetarians and vegans. Fresh juices are yummy. Specials are good. Consistent win. We pick up M&K for meal trains when friends need some comfort food to get by or we just don't feel like cooking, but still want to eat well.

The food was excellent. I had the curry goat and it felt like home.
