Mestizo Louisiana Méxican Cuisine

This is the first time I’ve been to Mestizo since way before the pandemic, but I must say, Jim has done so much with the place I hardly recognized it! The new layout is much more intimate and inviting, the kitchen is in view of everyone so you can always see what’s going on in there, and the colors, design, etc that Jim used on the remodel definitely bumped it up on the list of “nice restaurants” in town. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice before, but now it’s been kicked up a couple of levels. Of course, the food was amazing. I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t been in so long or some changes were made on the kitchen and/or the menu, but the food was much better than I remembered! Keep up the good work Jim! I’ll definitely try coming more often now. I love the new layout and everything!

Dillon was amazing! My friends and I had gotten off a shift and decided to just stop by even though NONE of us have been to the place before but holy moly the food was SO GOOD! The Margs also got the job done in a really yummy delicious way. Dillon served my friends and I and played along with our antics and answered all of our questions perfectly and made AMAZING recommendations! Someone get Dillon a raise! I can’t wait to come back
