This is the best tasting breakfast we’ve had in the Baton Rouge area. You must try the fried green tomatoes, Chicken St. Charles and the French toast bites. I have ordered egg Benedict from so many places and I can honestly say Ruby Slipper nailed it perfectly! Anything you try here is delicious. Put this place on your list of restaurants to try. You will not regret it. Be prepared to wait because the lines tend to get lengthy. Put your name on the Google wait list and enjoy the fresh air outside.
For a Saturday morning on LSU Gameday seating time was less than 15 minutes which was a shock. The seating is way too cramped for my liking. Every seating spot in the restaurant puts you right next to another patron and the place was full so that was a negative. Service was very quick. We got our appetizer and drinks in a timely manner and our server checked up on us to let us know when the main meal would be out. The food was pretty good as well. I like their take on Eggs Benedict and those french toats bites were awesome. The shrimp and grits was way too greasey for my taste, but it was well seasoned. The bloody mary was the best part of the meal.
We love the ruby slipper though we do prefer the original one. The waitress was very sweet even waiting for our toddler to tell her what she wanted to eat
