Meso Modern Mediterranean

Fancy spot for dinner! I love the big doors that they have leading from the indoor are to the patio. We had to wait a bit to be seated and the Bartender was slow. Our waiter was great with helping me find suitable gluten/dairy free options for me on the menu. A bit pricy but the lamb shank was divine! Drinks were strong and a tad sweet. I’d go back for a date night!

I had relatively high expectations for this restaurant after reading the reviews others had previously posted. Food wise, I won’t say anything in particular really stood out to be exceptional. Dishes had nice presentations and they all tasted good enough. I did like it that many of the dips/sauces were yogurt based, but still taste different enough to create that variation. Service was good. Ambience of the restaurant was good.

I LOVED this place! Every course was better than the last, and I didn’t think it were possible. Great vibe in the sunny and windy Santana row spot. We walked around deciding where to go and Meso looked like a good option. It was about 2:30 in the after and still the place was bustling. I ordered the trio dip with pita bread. The trio of dips being- hummus, bull’s blood beet labneh and smoked eggplant with freshly baked and fried pita. Delicious! The beet labneh had a sweet flavor profile and I kept going back for more. For main course I ordered the turmeric cauliflower. I was surprised by the portion size (quite large) because it was listed under sides. I did not think I would ever like cauliflower and orange in the same dish nor did I ever think about that combination because it sounds bizarre but friend, prepare to have your minds blown.
