Dinner reservations for two, 7pm. 8/10/22 Reservations were made back in May this was the soonest available opening. When we arrived they did not 'appear' to confirm our reservation in any way. Almost felt like we could have just said we have a reservation without having one. The dining room was half empty. There's a big sign near the front door that says reservations only. Expectations were very high due to the long wait. Our waitress Jill was concise and professional. Small talk is not her thing, which is fine. We were sat right in front of the wood grill. The cook Horst, spoke with a lovely heavy accent and made minor conversations with us, excellent guy. We both ordered filets mignon this evening, both medium. That's exactly what we received, the steak was unbelievably tender. They got the meat 100% right, excellent. My drink was refilled quickly everytime. Staff even assisted when Jill was unavailable. Exceptional service, food and experience! We try and visit Mathew’s once a month ❤️ Fabulous wine menu, gourmet apps and sides.. the house made bleu cheese is drool worthy! The steaks PERFECT! So So good. Love this family owned and operated establishment

I had the sheer pleasure of dining at Matthew’s a week ago with my wife and two other couples. We go out to eat as a couple probably once a week. When we want a “dining experience” we go to Matthew’s. This idea, coupled with the yen for an excellent steak, takes us to Matthew’s. The service as always, is personalized friendly and efficient. The homemade salad dressings, sour cream (for baked potato) and desserts add to the charm of this family-owned gem. Everything is done perfectly. However, with sincere care, Matthew and his father, chef Horst, check on each table to make sure it is indeed perfect. Horst mentioned to me that he eats his steak “medium rare” when I asked. He said it is juicier and tastier. So I strayed from my normal “medium” preference, and man I was rewarded. What I always consider to be the “best steak in town” just got better.
