Makotos Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi

We waited an hour past our reservation for a table, half an hour past that after we were finally seated to get our drinks (mostly waters), and another 12 minutes after that to get the soup and salad. Almost TWO HOURS after our reservation did they start making the food. Mind you food they served us was touching the table (picture proof below). When my mom, who we were celebrating, made a comment about the service and wait time, the server laughed at her. The chicken was put on the flattop first and it was the last thing to be taken off. It was so over cooked and dry that it was inedible. All in all it was a horrible experience, and none of the staff had any sense of respect or decency considering they kept us waiting with no update and when we did ask it was nothing but attitudes. Most of our guests had stomach issues after the meal. It was awful and I would not recommend it to absolutely anyone.

Have been at the bar getting sushi 2 times this week ans I have a good experience each time. The sushi chef is funny and always happy to explain things and chat in general! Had the beauty and the beast roll, gyoza and edamame and I can't complain about a thing! … More

Our family created a tradition of going to Makotos every time we gather, several times a year for my mom. My ex and I used to go monthly when we lived there. Thank you, Makotos, for getting your sauces on grocery shelves here in Michigan.
