Overall a meh experience. I have to give credit that there was a generous portion of meat on the brisket sandwich I got. But it didn’t taste great. Just ok. The Mac and cheese was incredibly average. Some of the biscuits were good; some were stale I experienced fairly good service. I got multiple drink refills. However some people in my group did not. Also it took forever for the food to come. I would say about an hour (and this was not on a peak night).
The service was great. I couldn't ask for better. The food, on the other hand, was disappointing. I really hate saying that, but there it is. I had the half chicken. I expect smoked chicken to be pink. Don't let the color put you off. Having said that, mine was undercooked. I admit I like my chicken fairly well cooked. You might like it. My niece had the Monte Cristo, and it had a fried chicken kind of coating instead of egg, and tasted of fried chicken. She couldn't eat it. I tried it. It was strange. The other people there enjoyed their ribs and fried chicken. The plates are large, and looked sadly empty. I haven't been there since the pandemic, and I remember it differently. Like so many places, perhaps the pandemic took it's toll. I don't want to discourage anyone that wants to give Lucille's a try. For me, it won't be my first choice for BBQ next time.
We used to come here often because my daughter was a server while in school. It just wasn't as good as I remembered. The biscuits were good but dryer and more crumbly. The baby back ribs were very good. Moist, fall off the bone tender and very flavorful. If only they would buy their ribs at Costco they would really be meaty and then they'd be excellent. My wife really liked the tri-tip but I thought the meat was dry. Nut again, very flavorful. The vegetable melody and mashed potatoes where good compliments to the meats.
