They were out of a lot of things on Friday night…like Italian Sodas, Sparkling Water, and Peach Bellini. The cheese plate was subpar. I had the chicken, which was dried out with burnt stuffing. Service was inattentive
I recommend reservations as this place can get busy quick! My wife and I love Italy and the food there. We are always on a hunt for good authentic Italian cuisine. This place is the closest you can get to it in the mid-cities. They have a lot of great pasta dishes and a few good meat entrees to choose from. There is a huge wine list including wines made by the owners family; according to our waitress. The staff was attentive to us, the host found us a table quickly and the food was excellent. I will be back and highly recommend this place.
The good: The pork chop was amazing! Tender, juicy and the light maple glaze was outstanding. The place is very nice, well decorated. Loved how it is decorated with empty wine bottles and boxes. The bad: The service! Super slow, terribly slow. We got a free tiramisu to go to compensate for the terrible service. And then, the other food items we ordered. The octopus was tough, undercooked, supposedly had some pineapple but couldn't find anywhere. They offer bread with olive oil and a balsamic jelly to start, but neither stood out. The jelly was just weird, have had better olive oils and bread was dry. Cacio e Pepe was authentic but lacking some flavor, not bad but not great either. Tiramisu, huge disappointment, served on a cup, instead of a plate; could have used more 'bread' and coffe, too much mascarpone and needed more balance.
